The RC Hobby Has Expensive Toys

Monday February 20, 2006
One day I was talking to my girlfriend about the Blade CP RTF helicopter by E-Flight that I really wanted but she gasped when I showed her the price tag. Some of the more advanced RCs can put a serious dent in your pocketbook! I've easily spent as much on a single RC hobby-grade car as I have on ten or more toy-grade RC trucks. While not all hobby-grade RCs are expensive, it's true that due to their complexity they typically cost more than the toy-grade RCs you find at your local retail stores.

If you really enjoy RCs then toy cars are more expensive because you wear them out and have to keep replacing them over and over again. With the hobby cars you can spend a lot of money on upgrades but its really cheaper in the long run and you get the kind of car you really want.
