Traxxas Rustler Breaks the Sound Barrier

Sunday March 12, 2006
I have a greed for speed. Unfortunately, the scared passengers that ride with me often protest anytime my speedometer quickly shoots past the posted speed limit.

Lucky for me that in the park across the street there are no speed limit signs. And with a nitro-powered RC I don't have to contend with a chorus of "Slow down! Not so fast! Whoa Nellie! Oh my god we're gonna die!" from the passengers who would have their hearts jumping out of their chest as they screamed these phrases of fear. It's just me, my super-fast RC, and all the speed I can throw at it.

Nitro RCs are known for their mind-boggling speed. The Traxxas 1:10 Nitro Rustler 2.5 Stadium Truck fills my greed for speed -- I've yet to get it to maximum speed but it's plenty fast for me. But it's also durable. I subjected it to flips, jumps and hard landings, and a few wipeouts and it still keeps ticking. Find out why I've given it a 5-star rating.

I just got the Traxxas Rustler i would say about a month and a half ago. I was upset about it at first because i just got a new buggy but the parts backordered(which i still have yet to get in) so we switched to a truck..I despise the paint job as mine is a blue, i assume because im still learning that has to do with type. I took mine out and did the break in, and she runs great. i love her even though she does tend to wheely a bit much. I just got new tires this weekend which i probably should have done a while back the factory ones are not the best but they work…my dad races and next week i think im gonna get out and race for my first time. I cant wait wish me luck! :)

Next time your at your local hobby shop ask the assistant if he has the rustler body in the paint your own body section. That way you can dress and paint it any way you desire. If your still having problems with wheelies try stiffening the rear shocks with a thicker oil to give them more resistance to the torque that little motor puts out. Good luck on race day!

I just got my rustler about 2 weeks ago, and did all the break ins; I am very impressed. After a tank of fuel when I run it though, I seem to stall a lot, especially when sliding into a turn. Any ideas why this could be? I am not over heating that I know of, I had heard there could possibly be an air leak? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Tighten the idle screw just a little to stop stalling.
But if you realy want a fast car try a JATO 3.3
