Stampede into the RC Hobby
Friday April 7, 2006
Like me, my son likes extremely fast RCs that can take a royal beating. But I don't think he's really ready for the torque and speed of a nitro-powered RC yet. While some toy RC trucks are really cool, a hobby grade electric has more speed and most important - almost every part on the RC is replaceable. For an early birthday present I got him (and me) the Traxxas Stampede RC Monster Truck. Moderately-priced, it's a hobby-grade RC that's easy to control and tough enough for crash-prone novice drivers.

I bough 1 for my son and myself. 6 batteries and a prophet charger for $590. Its well worth the money for the amount of time I get to spend with my son playing and maintaining these vehicles. Truck is fast and well built. The kids with the Walmart RC vehicles drewl over the Stampede. I just wish the batteries charged faster. It takes about 80 min. to charge the 4200 mah batteries.
i have a stampede too i like it a lol
jato 3.3 is still way better
I’ve been beating on my stampede (bought used) for a few years now and have had very few problems. rebuilt the slipper clutch once, wrecked the steering servo once, did change the gears for more low end torque. thats about all I’ve done other then beat the he!! out of it. still works great, lots of fun!
I think that the stampede is one of the best trucks that i have seen ever. i have only been runnin these trucks for about 3 to 4 year, but they are amazing. The truck durablility is amazing, excellent for a beginner to learn on. Love the 50% change on the ESC. Excellent truck 5 stars
