Be Safe On and In the Water

Thursday June 22, 2006
RC safety isn't the most glamorous or fun part of buying, building, and running radio controlled vehicles. Yeah, we know (or should know) that sticking fingers into moving parts or smoking while fueling up a nitro RC are not good ideas.

But news, such as a recent story out of Florida, serve as not-so-pleasant reminders that RC safety shouldn't be taken lightly. At the end of May a man drowned while trying to retrieve a stranded RC boat. The man couldn't swim, was evidently not wearing a lifevest, and his raft was rammed and punctured by another boat in the race. Be safe on or around the water when operating your RC watercraft.
