RC Ground Round-Up

Interesting, weird, or just plain funny stuff in the world of radio controlled cars and trucks (and some not quite RC but close):
- RC Truck Gets Ticked Off? In a merger of robotics and radio control, some students at Virginia Military Institute hacked up an RC truck and turned it into a tick-killing robot.
- Lego Race. We've always known that building blocks aren't just for kids. Here's Greg Montie's ZXERO 100% Lego Racing Car.
(found via MAKE)
- A PC RC. If RC racing games on your computer aren't enough excitement for you, you could control a real RC with your PC. Here's a step-by-step.
- These Tanks Aren't Firing Blanks. I've got a little pair of toy RC tanks but nothing like the paintball-shooting armoured vehicles used in the RC tank combat hobby. Awesome. The R/C Tank Combat site has how-to articles and detailed descriptions of dozens of radio controlled tanks and armored cars in use and under construction.
- Big Boy Toys. See what too much desert sun will do to you. Some guys turned a full size 1982 Toyota Camry into an RC (neat) then drove it around til they crashed and burned. Watch the video.
- Mowed Down by RC! No, not an unfortunate RC accident. This tutorial is right up my alley. My yard might actually get mowed on a regular basis if I convert my lawn mower to a radio controlled model.
