RC Air Round-Up
Sunday July 16, 2006
Interesting, weird or just plain funny stuff in the world of radio controlled airplanes and other things that fly (and some not quite RC but close):
- The Power of Flight at Your Fingertips. Little RC planes aren't so unusual but scroll through the pictures at the South Leicester Aeronutz web site to see some really tiny, palm-size and smaller flying machines. And check out the "wingmen" on the "Flight of the Phoenix" further down the page.

- It's a car! It's a plane! Here's one way to build yourself an inexpensive little RC airplane using a micro RC car.

- Palm-sized Whirlies. Here's a tiny little RC helicopter that uses your palm as its heli-port.
- Flying CDs. OK, not quite. But you can put a piece of a CD-ROM drive in the air by turning it into a brushless motor for your RC planes. Fly Electric shows how.

- Up, Up, and Away. They're selling plans for a propane-powered, radio controlled hot air balloon. Or, just look at pictures and watch the video of the RC balloon in action. It doesn't do cool tricks like a plane or helicopter but it would make a nice slow-moving platform for aerial photography.
