I like speed, I have some fast RCs, and I've always thought of myself as a decent driver. But the other day I was up close and personal with speed and good driving that put my efforts to shame. Up the road a ways from where I live there are organized weekly RC parking lot races. For some time now I've wanted to go watch the action but something always came up. I finally got a chance to attend and was blown away at how fast those little cars can go. These aren't stock RCs -- the drivers invest in hundreds of dollars worth of upgrades
to enhance speed and handling. And it takes a lot of skill to stay on the track at those speeds. But watching those drivers has inspired me to step up my driving a notch or two. Who knows, maybe in a few months or a year I can get on the track and race with the local big boys and not look and feel like a total novice.
- How to Drive an RC
Having a fast car isn't enough. You need to know how to handle the road. Good driving skills will help even a stock RC go faster.
- RC Racing Games
One way to learn how to handle a fast-moving RC is by using RC racing simulation software. It's a game and a learning tool.
- RC Racing
Even if you aren't ready to race yourself you can learn a lot by watching others. Find out where the local track is or when area RC Racing Clubs are holding competitions.
