Keeping an XPV Flying High

Monday June 9, 2008
Some folks (like me) love the XPV and some hate it. Mario is conflicted.

He writes,
"i hate the xpv... three days later one motor goes slow one goes fast... i miss the fun times i flew it it is the best rc plane i ever had..."
I had a similiar problem with my own XPV. Here are some troubleshooting suggestions:
  • Make sure there isn't anything behind the prop of the motor that is slowing it down.
  • Check to see if the prop got pushed back against the motor causing it to slow down.
  • If there is nothing in the way of the prop just take a cotton swab and spray it with lubricant such as WD-40 and dab the back of the motor where the shaft is at the center and try to do the same at the front.

When I had a problem with a slow motor I did the above and I have flown it several times after that with no problems. Hope this can get you back to flying the XPV because it is a lot of fun to fly.
