Solar Panel On Wheels...

Tuesday November 11, 2008
That's what this solar-powered RC looks like. At instructables, brightwhite has posted Building a Solar Powered R/C car. This version uses the solar panel as the chassis so what you have is a flat rectangle on wheels with a motor. It includes parts from an Associated RC10L3 oval car along with materials like foam, birchwood, motor, solar cells, and of course radio gear. The instructable has 5 steps including videos. Here's a similar instructable Solar RC car project that involves taking an existing RC car and strapping on some solar panels and wiring it up to run. And if you still need more solar goodness, this instructable is a Solar RC Conversion of an RC hummer. A sun roof as a solar panel -- how appropriate.
