RCs In The Movies

Monday December 1, 2008
A lot of RCs are based on movies (Batman, Speed Racer, etc.) but sometimes the RCs are in the movie. I was spending some time with my son watching our all time favorite movies: Tremors 1, 2 and 3. I couldn't help but notice in 2 and 3 that the heroic hunters in the movies were using toy-grade RCs to attract the "Graboids," as they called them. The RC toys themselves were the off-road kind and they had explosives on board. When the Graboid sensed the vibration coming from them they would attack and eat them. "BOOOM! No more worm," said Burt Gummer, one of the characters in the movie.

This got me to thinking about how many movies I've seen that had some form of RCs used at one time or another. The farthest back I can remember was an old Dirty Harry movie from the 80's where a guy used a nitro buggy to get under a car to blow it up! I think I see a familiar pattern here. What movies do you remember? Talk about them in the forum and let's see who's seen what and find out what RC's were used. We all have at some time or another have seen the old Godzilla movies, right?
