RC Boat Marina at the Mall
Wednesday June 10, 2009
A few months back we talked about a project mentioned in our forum. A fellow was wanting to start up an RC adventure park for radio controlled boats. I saw something similar earlier this week when I took a trip to the Prime Outlet Mall in San Marcos, Texas. At one end of the mall, in an island in the parking lot, there's a Remote Boat Marina. A cement pond with little walkways, some shade, and some food kiosks scattered about is home to this little park where you can rent tug boats or fishing schooners. Shoppers can rent by the quarter-hour. Provides a nice little break after trekking miles around this huge mall. And keeps the kids from getting too antsy as well.
Are there any RC boat rental parks or marinas set up in your area? I'd like to hear about them.

Our park is located at the Riverside Park in Riverside,Ca. we meet every sunday morining from 7am til around noon time… often you’ll fine any where from 10 to 20 people there with all kinds of boats. Sail’, Tug’s, power boats, fast and slow..

Hello John,
Sounds like you found us in San Marcos. We have been at it for about 5 months now and had lots of positive feed back. It has been lots of hard work too. Wish I had been there when you were by. You saw what boats we are running. The tugs are our work horses. Did you see the barges that we made for them to push into the slips? Those we also made up – they are very popular. Unfortunately, the schooners have not held up. We have been very dissapointed in them. We are looking for some boats in the 20 to 30 dollar range to sell and possibly let the buyer use one half of the pool. Do you have any suggestions? Something we dont have to charge up is preferred. You saw what we have, do you have any suggestions?
Thank you John
George
Opps my bad, I meant Michael.
RC sailboats are the most peaceful way to enjoy radio control boating. This way are also the hardest rc boats to master – with a nitro or electric model boat you can just open the throttle and blast round the lake.
Thanks
