How Do I Protect My RC Electronics From Water and Mud?

In my area right now the only way I'd have to worry about water or mud is if I turn the waterhose onto the dustbowl that was once my semi-green front yard. But in your area you may not be having a drought and you still want to get out there with your RC.

RC muddin' sounds like fun until you think about the clean up involved. But beyond that, the internal parts get pretty dirty on a dry day and normal dust can tear up the inside of an RC. But what about water, snow, and mud?
