RC4WD Subzero RC Truck

Friday November 6, 2009

Christmas is fast approaching so I was browsing around the net to see what's new and different in the RC world. I came across the RC4WD Subzero 1:10 Scale Truck Kit. The Subzero is one mean-looking machine with a nice dose of realism and details -- some of which come as upgrades rather than standard.

First off, it has a full metal steel tube chassis in powder-coated black, scale steering wheel, and scale interior panels. Other standout features are the replica five point harness seats that can be purchased as an upgrade. A separate spare tire (also an upgrade part) can be mounted on the back for more realism.

You can get just the chassis or the kit that also includes tires, axles, and shocks. The Subzero kit actually comes fully assembled except for the wheels and tires with their beadlock rims -- which can take up to 30 minutes (each) to put together and install. Amazing how complicated tires can be. But if you don't have the time or aren't up to the challenge of 14 hours solid building a kit, a couple of hours on the tires is a minor issue. Add your own motor and electronics to complete this awesome scale RC.
