Magnify Your RC Work

Thursday November 12, 2009

There are a lot of tiny, tiny parts involved with building an RC. (I hate e-clips!) Even if you're not building a kit, any hobby-grade RC is going to have a bunch of little screws that will need tightening, removal, or replacing over time.

Although I mostly manage with just my plain old eyes, my wife would agree with guest Paul who writes, "A hands-free magnifying glass is a must for building kits and for doing other detail work." After building her first RC (The Grasshopper) she went out and got one of those magnifying lenses that you wear on your head (compare prices). Goofy-looking but it works. Until mine broke I had a work lamp with built-in magnifier (compare prices). That's a great tool too.

What are your must-have tools for working with RC vehicles?
