Lost Your Remote? Get an iPod Touch

This guy, Dave, hooked up his rebuilt '69 GTO (not a scale model, the full-size kind) to operate using an iPod Touch and some software. It could be done with an iPhone as well. I don't think my wife will let me try it with hers though. But upon reading this story in at popsci.com ("A Rebuilt GTO with iPod Remote Control") it made me think that this could be the answer for those folks with a favorite infrared RC toy that's had the remote go missing.  If you're the geeky sort with an iPhone or iPod handy you might just be able to rig it to run your RC -- along with your TV and maybe even the car out in the garage.
