Shock Shaft Replacement on a Team Losi Raminator

From Michael James, About.com GuideJune 26, 2010

After going through the break in process of my new 1:8 scale Losi Raminator. I was disappointed in the way the shocks were built. All I did was run off the side of a curb (not fast or roughly) and ended up with a limping, lop-sided RC.

The suspension is simply not sturdy enough for this heavy (13 lbs.) truck.  Although the Megashock design looked cool it lacked shaft strength. The shocks themselves held up really well and are adjustable but when you adjust for more stiffness or ride height you are going to put stress on the bottom linkage. I found this out when I adjusted the shocks to get a little more height to give the Raminator a more realistic monster truck stance. So, after only a brief run, it was off to the workbench for my Raminator.

Fortunately, the shock rebuild itself is reasonably easy given you have the right tools...
