Adding More Paint With a Brush
Painting blue stripe.

With all but thin strip masked in tape, blue paint is applied along edge of gold wave.

The gold wave against the red wasn't very exciting. I decided to add a strip of bright blue. At first, I considered painting it freehand. Then decided to try masking it off for a crisper line. As you can see, because I was using a brush it wasn't necessary to mask off the entire RC body, just the area where I was working.

An accident turned a neat blue stripe into something quite different, though.

After applying the blue paint with a brush I discovered a few spots where the masking tape wasn't pressed down quite enough. The paint seeped through it leaving spidery little lines on the gold and red. Instead of trying to fix it, I decided I rather liked the look. So I peeled off the tape and using a couple of different brushes and various dabbing and stroking techniques created a scattered and splattered wavy blue stripe. What started as a neat, thin wave of blue became a wider, intentionally messy wave with indistinct edges.
