Guide Review - Novak HV series Brushless Motor

Novak's HV series brushless motors are an awesome upgrade for any electric hobby-grade RC. The HV series motor can be purchased separately or as a combo along with Novak's HV series ESC (Electronic Speed Control). It comes in either a 4.5 turn or a 6.5 turn setup. Expect great performance from either choice.

Stays Cooler

With most hobby-grade electric RCs heat is a major issue. A too-hot motor can rob your RC of precious performance and cause serious problems when racing for long periods of time. With the Novak HV series brushless motors this heat problem is practically eliminated due to its built-in thermal protection and aluminum ribbed end bells which help with the dissipation of heat.

If you are still uneasy about the heat issue Novak has an optional heat sink to put your mind at ease.

Runs Longer

Without the problems associated with overheating motors, maintenance is brought down to a minimum providing you with longer and better racing performance. Additionally, Novak's HV series motors are designed to handle up to 14 (1.2) cells and also provide up to 20% longer runtime.

Goes Faster

The aluminum ribbed end bells help make the HV series brushless motor lightweight at a mere 8.36 oz (295 grams). Not only will you get great long-lasting performance you will also increase the overall speed.

Inside these wickedly fast motors is a Nickel-plated Sintered Neodymium rotor to help these bad boys reach mind-blowing speeds. The sintered rotors -- once illegal in ROAR-sanctioned races -- now have official ROAR approval. With stock motors you can possibly reach speeds up to 25-28 mph but with one of the HV series motors you will get up to 36-40 mph.

In my opinion having one of these monsters under the hood would be a great investment.
