Definition: Alcohol-based nitromethane fuel used in nitro-powered RC vehicles tends to dry out engine parts. A few drops of after-burn oil placed in the engine cylinder helps to lubricate the piston and other internal parts. As the name implies, after-burn oil is used after burning nitro gas, i.e. running the engine.
Also Known As: after-run oil
Alternate Spellings: afterburn | after burn
Examples: Adding after-burn oil to a glow engine is one of the after-run maintenance tasks that keep an RC in top shape and extend the life of the engine.
