Definition: Alcohol-based nitromethane fuel used in nitro-powered RC vehicles tends to dry out glow engine parts. One of the lubricating fluids used in glow engines is after-burn oil.

Where to Use After-Burn Oil: A few drops of after-burn oil placed in the engine cylinder helps to lubricate the piston and other internal parts.

When to Use After-Burn Oil: As the name implies, after-burn oil is used after burning nitro fuel, i.e. running the engine. It is generally used during after-run maintenance as part of the proper care of a nitro RC.

Also Known As: after-run oil
Alternate Spellings: afterburn | after burn
Examples:
Adding after-burn oil to a glow engine is one of the after-run maintenance tasks that keep an RC in top shape and extend the life of the engine.
