Definition: The basic frame or chassis of a radio controlled vehicle is the platform upon which internal parts such as the motor and the receiver sit. The chassis is typically made of a heavy, rigid plastic or aluminum.

Electric RCs generally have a plastic or carbon-fiber chassis. Because of the heat generated by nitro engines, nitro RCs usually have aluminum or other type of metal chassis.
