The basic drifting technique involves oversteering. That is, instead of counter-steering to straighten the car to bring the front and rear wheels back in line with each other, you oversteer so that the vehicle slides sideways through the turn.

RC drifting is a type of on-road driving generally done with street cars. On-road tires for RC drifting are commonly made of hard (and durable) plastic PVC or slightly softer ABS pipe. Some manufacturers produce compound tires specifically for drifting.
