Definition: In RC racing or bashing a
jump is an object such as a ramp or mound of dirt used to launch an RC car or truck briefly into the air. In the context of RC racing, an RC track may incorporate one or more types of jumps. On a dirt track, a jump is usually a mound of dirt, sloped on at least one side. The RC drives up one side of the jump launching into the air and lands on the track on the other side of the jump.
A jump that is sloped on both sides allows traffic to come from either direction. An RC can also drive over the mound without jumping it. A drop-off jump would have a slope on only one side, like a cliff. A series of jumps of the same size one after the other are called doubles (two jumps) or triples (three jumps). Jumps can be low or high with steep or gradual slopes, rounded or flat on top.
