Most RC rims are plastic although a lightweight aluminum might be used. Some rims have a small groove around the edges into which the tire bead fits. This is also where the tires are glued to the rim.
The rim attaches to the axle and is held in place with a wheel nut or possibly an e-clip or cotter pin.
Some rims are plain white, solid nylon plastic. Others may mimic the silver rims on full-size vehicles and have a chrome appearance or come in other colors such as black, gray, or blue. The rim may have spokes or a spinning rim and even lights in the wheels.
