Straightaway

By Michael James, About.com

Definition: On an RC track, a straightaway is a section of the track between the curves and corners. Straightaways may be completely smooth, allowing the driver to build up speed or they may include a few moguls or washboard segments that can slow a driver down. Straightaways may begin and/or end with turns or jumps. A long straightaway may have a jump somewhere in the middle.
Also Known As: straights
