Definition: The side of an RC tire, especially the part facing out, is the tire wall. Some tires have a large tire wall. Other tires, such as on many on-road cars, have smaller tire walls. The tire wall may be relatively flat or it may be more rounded or even concave. A taller tire wall with tire inserts may absorb bumps and landings from jumps better which is one reason you'll typically see higher tire walls on off-road RC vehicles.
Although the RC tire is usually black, the tire wall may be painted white to mimic classic "white wall" tires or you could use a white pen to paint lettering on the tire wall.
