Toe Angle

Definition: The angle of the two front wheels or two rear wheels relative to each other and the car as seen from above is the toe angle.

Toe Angle Positions
There are three basic positions for toe angle although the degree of toe angle can vary: neutral, toe-in, toe-out. Toe angle is changed by adjusting the turnbuckles on the RC.

A pair of tires that are parallel to each other and to the car have a neutral toe angle. If the front of the wheels point inward toward the car so that the fronts of the wheels are closer together than the back of the wheels then the wheels are in the toe-in position. If the front of the wheels point away from the car so that the fronts of the wheels are further apart than the back of the wheels then the wheels are in the toe-out position.

Learn how to set toe angle in this illustrated Petit RC tutorial that includes a tutorial to make your own tool for determining toe angle.
