Unassembled

By Michael James, About.com

Definition: A hobby-grade RC vehicle that is unassembled usually has to be built from the ground up using the supplied parts and instructions and your own tools. Some RCs come in kits that might be partially built but usually still require a lot of assembly before they can be used.

The Starter Kits for Radio Shack XMODS are partially unassembled -- various parts of the body have to be screwed together and the tires and wheels have to be put on. Other RC kits come with the chassis, drivetrain, motor, and other internal parts unassembled.
