Definition: When the front tires of an RC car, truck, or other wheeled vehicle come up off the ground and the RC is driving on only its back wheels, it is doing a wheelie. Also referred to as poppin' a wheelie, it's a common trick done during bashing or other on-road or off-road driving. Some wheelies are unintentional and even undesirable. While doing a wheelie the RC is harder to control -- with the front tires off the ground you can't steer the RC.

A wheelie bar can assist in keeping an RC from flipping over when doing wheelies.

Learn how do a wheelie, the importance of a wheelie bar, where to do a wheelie, and look at pictures and videos related to wheelies and wheelie bars in The Art of the RC Wheelie.

Alternate Spellings: wheely
Examples:
Poppin' a wheelie is a basic maneuver that can also help a new RC driver learn how to control their vehicle. Being able to intentionally get up on and drive on just your back wheels and come back down without crashing is good practice for any RC driver.
