Does It Meet the Description on the Box?
The only things that I find to be a letdown are that the 4-Tec is not really tunable which can be a drag if something is wrong and that it is a strictly on-road RC car. I would love to be able to have that kind of speed and control on a dirt track but the low profile of the 4-Tec negates that possibility. Level ground is recommended as speed bumps and curbs can prove devastating if your 4-Tec connects with them at high speeds. Traxxas pre-tunes everything before it hits the market for performance so the lack of tuning ability isn't much of a loss, but it is still something that I would like to see rectified in future models of the 4-Tec.Pros:

Other than the reasons above, the Traxxas 4-Tec Nitro 2.5 On-Road RC Car is a good buy for anyone familiar with nitro vehicles who desires to race. I'll give it a 4 out of 5 stars for its reasonable cost at around $300, high speeds, durability, and great handling on-road.
Recommended Upgrades
Built strictly for on-road use, the 4-Tec should never be driven off-road. If you want that little extra edge I recommend getting a duel chamber performance pipe for extra power off-the-line or changing the gear ratio by adding or changing the pinion gear / spur gear combinations.Out of the box is fine but at some point you'll probably want or need to hop-up, modify, or repair your 4-Tec. Optional accessories are ball differentials, gearsets, graphite chassis, aluminum pulleys, and sway bars, with sliding adjustable sway bar mounts.
