Disassemble the RC, Trace the Wires

Trace your wires.

Wires aren't always red and black so trace them back to the circuit board to be sure which is positive and negative.

Take apart your RC, if necessary, in order to trace the wires from the battery compartment back to the circuit board. On the circuit board it should be labeled as to which is positive (+) and which is negative (-).

Battery connector wires are usually color coded red for positive and black for negative and the same would be true for the power leads (wires) inside the RC that run from the circuit board to the battery compartment. But this is not always the case. The RC sub used in this tutorial has two positive wires that are purple and orange and one black negative wire. You may also encounter variations in the wiring for your own RC.
