There are two ways to install the power leads to your new motor: soldering or quick connecting leads.

If you have some soldering experience and the necessary soldering equipment, you may opt to solder your leads directly to the terminals on the motor.

Quick connecting leads, such as the Trinity Gold No-Solder Leads I'm using in this tutorial, are solderless and make the lead connection process a lot easier and faster.

Look for the terminals on the end of the motor. They will be marked positive (+) and negative (-). Solder or quick connect the positive lead to the positive terminal and the negative lead to the negative terminal.

  • The red lead goes to the positive terminal.
  • The black lead goes to the negative terminal.
