Indoor Flying
School gymnasiums, indoor sports arenas, basketball courts, and warehouses are good locations for indoor RC airplanes. Your local flying club may be able to reserve these types of large venues for group flying. With the smaller indoor RC airplanes a nice size living room -- especially one with a vaulted or extra high ceiling -- makes a decent airfield. An empty garage or basement works well too. There are a few micro RC airplanes that could fly well enough in a 10-foot x 10-foot space but larger is better. Outdoor Flying
Usually indoor RC airplanes are extremely lightweight. For this reason they can't handle wind. For those designated as indoor \ outdoor, most will still need less than 5 mph winds. If it is a calm day, windless day, most indoor radio controlled airplanes can handle the great outdoors. However, if the plane is an infrared model, direct sunlight can interfere with the controller making it difficult to handle.
