The Bottom Line
Pros
- Adds more fun (battling) to flying than just moving about and around the living room or kitchen area
- Gives an extra skill to master while learning to fly (recovering from a hit)
- If your friend doesn't a Havoc Heli you now have an extra one to let him/her fly because they come i
- As with the regular Havoc Heli it also comes with a built in charging station on the controller
- Glow in the dark blades (Special Edition only) add to the excitement of night battles
Cons
- Can be tricky to get them to fly straight; Needs adjustments to the tail and trim on controller
- Motor doesn't stop immediately when releasing throttle
- Not really a con but I would like the flight time to be a tad bit longer than 10 -15 minutes

- Infrared controllers have firing button and trim buttons as well as throttle, hover, and left/right controls.

Guide Review - Air Hogs Havoc Heli Laser Battle Set
What you get in this awesome, dueling heli package is two Havoc micro helicopters fitted with infrared tranmitters that act as a cannon that fires a beam at your opponent. Each heli also has an infrared receiver which, after three hits sends the heli spinning out of control. That is the primary difference between other Havoc helis and the Laser Battle Set.
After my little demo, we kept playing and charging them for a long time. Eventually we had to put our battle on hold in order to get some sleep. The Havoc Heli Laser Battle set is loads of fun for everyone. You could even possibly take turns as a team if you have more than two people that want to play. I can't wait until my son and I go head to head because he's ten and I'm thirty-five and both of us are equal in competitiveness and an unwillingness to give up. Who will be the last man or, should I even dare say, the littlest man standing?
However, as much fun as these helicopters are to play with, there are some things worth noting. Learning how to fly any kind of helicopter takes time and patience. Not everyone will be able to do battle right out of the box -- you may have to spend a few days getting accustomed to the controls and learning how to make adjustments to get the best flight from each heli.
Although they are small (about 6 inches long) you still need plenty of room to navigate. I wouldn't recommend trying to do battle in less than a 10x10 space. More is better. Flight is also affected by drafts so choose a room with closed windows and vents.
