Control Your Controller

Starting and Stopping Your RC

By Michael James, About.com

Before you run your RC: Controller on first, vehicle on second.
Never turn your vehicle on with your controller off. If your vehicle picks up someone else’s frequency it could drive off and you won't be able to gain control.

After you run your RC: Vehicle off first, controller off second.
Never turn your controller off with your vehicle on. The vehicle is still receiving radio signals and may become controlled by another person’s remote.
