Radio Controlled "Transformers"

RC Toys Based on "Transformers" Movie Characters

By , About.com Guide

With the release of the awesome "Transformers" movie there have been a number of RC Transformers vehicles to emerge. The Transformer RCs in this list are just some of the toy RCs out there. There XMODS are 1:28 scale RCs from RadioShack. Being discontinued in 2008, they may become hard to find. ZipZaps are 1:64 scale RadioShack RCs.

Jada Toys RCs

These 1:32 scale RC Jada Toys are a 2006 Chevy Camaro Concept in Bumble Bee Yellow and a Ford Mustang Police Car that mimic two of the Transformers movie characters. You can also find these toys on the shelf at Target in other sizes.

StarScream Micro Flyer

When StarScream had his chance to grace the silver screen in the "Transformers" movie he made his presence known. As he hopped from one F-22 Raptor to another ripping them apart I was left with my jaw hanging in amazement. Now you have the chance to own a piece of the action with this radio controlled micro park flyer from RadioShack.

Transformers XMODS

Just in time for the holiday season XMODS RC has done a line of micro RCs from the movie transformers that was released in theatres July 2007. You have a choice of Barricade or Bumblebee. The Transformers XMODS don't transform but they are upgradable with additional body modifications to give the look of being partially transformed. Bumblebee is a yellow and black (of course) Camaro and Barricade is a Mustang police cruiser. Both can be customized with a weapons and light kit. The Transformers XMODS are also upgradable and compatible with Generation 2 XMODS performance parts and motor upgrades.

ZipZaps Transformers RCs

These micro RCs are slightly larger than the IR brothers. They don't transform either but are still fun to run on the table tops. Sting those DECEPTICONS with a tiny little Bumblebee, chase 'em with the Barricade police cruiser, or put the leader of the AUTOBOTS in your pocket with a pint-sized Optimus Prime. The ZipZaps Transformers would make great stocking stuffers.

Micro IR Transformer Cars

Are ZipZaps too big for you? Go super-micro with Transformers Infrared Optimus Prime, Bumblebee or Barricade. You can race all three at once with their 3-channel selectibility. These are the type of toys I would bring to the office (if I had one). These Micro IR Transformer Cars aren't just RC cars that zoom around the desk. They also can be a display and the controller doubles as a pen. What I thought was an awesome bonus is that each IR RC also transforms into a micro version of the characters from the movie.
