Whether you're using the Stage 2 motor with the new pinion gear or you've simply replaced the pinion gear on the stock motor, put the motor into the rear gear box. Instead of replacing the plastic strip you removed in Step 2, hold the motor in place with the metal heat sink that came in the upgrade kit. Be careful not to tighten the motor mount screws too much because it will cause binding and strip the gears.

If you've replaced the motor you'll need to attach the new leads from the motor to the circuit board -- positive to positive and negative to negative. In this upgrade kit the red lead is positive (+) and the black lead is negative (-). Simply screw the leads into the appropriately labeled spots (where you removed the leads from the old motor).

The upgrade is now done. Put your wheels back on. Put the body back on. Take your newly upgraded XMODS out for a test drive.
